Our story begins, as all good stories should, with our dogs: Wolfie and Schastye. Being double‑coated and built for crisp winter days rather than blazing summer heat, they struggled whenever the temperature climbed. Over the increasingly hotter summers we tried everything to keep them comfortable – cooling mats, paddling pools, wet towels, shade tents – you name it, we gave it a go. But nothing quite hit the mark.
That was when the idea arrived, as most of our best ones do, in the middle of an ordinary afternoon. We’d seen plenty of people making fruit‑based ice creams for their pups, but nothing that actually leaned into what dogs actually love most: meat. So we started experimenting in our own kitchen, making small batches just for Wolfie and Schastye. The reaction was instant. Tails wagged, eyes widened, bowls were licked spotless. It was clear we had stumbled onto something special.
From there, the idea grew legs. If our two adored these meaty ice creams, surely other pups would too. What began as a way to keep our own dogs cool, quickly turned into a passion project – creating treats that are fun, refreshing, and tailored to canine tastes. We wanted to make something that felt wholesome and joyful, the kind of thing you give your dog simply because you love seeing them happy.
And that’s how our little venture was born: out of care, curiosity, and two very enthusiastic taste‑testers. Today, we’re proud to share those same meaty ice creams with dogs everywhere, helping them stay cool, feel loved, and enjoy a treat made just for them.

OUR TEAM
Making these delicious treats for your pups is not a single person job. The Howling Wolf has been a team effort right from the very beginning with family, friends and local pups helping to create something special.
We have learnt a lot throughout our journey of creating something your dogs can enjoy on a hot summers day, and at the heart of it all is our pups and our family who strive to bring deliciousness and the very best treats for your dog.

THE PLANET
We are fortunate enough to live in a small costal town in Essex, where we get plenty of sunlight to power our solar panels, ensuring each of our products is made and transported using Electric Vehicles, powered using sustainable electricity to keep our planet safe and protect the environment that surrounds us.
